New Year Planning Tips

| | Comments (0)
With the new year just around the corner, it's a good time now to get a jump on living more intentionally next year.  Here are some suggestions on things to consider:
  • Schedule a half-day with the Lord at least once a quarter to listen, pray, plan and worship.
  • Schedule regular dates with your wife.  Do something different for a change.  Learn a new skill together (e.g. dancing, cooking, exercise class, foreign languages, etc.)
  • Schedule regular one-on-one dates with your children.
  • Get a Bible reading plan and read through the Bible this year.  A good one is available from the Navigators for free by clicking here.
  • Make it a goal to take in less noise.  Turn off the radio in the car - pray instead.  Give your TV a much needed vacation.
  • Allocate a morning or evening to read a good book.  A couple are listed above.
Make it your goal to "make the most of every opportunity" (Ephesians 5:16).  Reflect on who is influencing your actions. Ask the Lord for the wisdom to discern the God honoring influences and the courage to shake it up a bit where it's needed.
